Summary
Amends the
Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Act 1975
to provide a framework for the administration and management of the Great Barrier Reef Park which integrates with the
Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999
and other legislation by: implementing environmental impact assessment and permitting processes; investigation and evidence collection; targeted approaches to enforcement; encouraging responsible use of the Park; and new emergency management powers.
